One of the joys of movie-going, past and present, is to watch a stunt person perform a delightful, daring, and sometimes dangerous stunt without the assistance of tech support. To illustrate the point, we will review in detail the creation of eleven of the most iconic stunts in film history, including the car chase in Bullitt, the ski jump off a mountain in The Spy Who Loved Me, Harold Lloyd climbing the outside of a skyscraper in Safety Last!, and the chariot race in Ben-Hur. After viewing clips of each stunt, we will look at the back-story of how each stunt was conceived and produced, including viewing, when available, clips from documentaries, all with the purpose of providing a unique look at some of the best movie stunts of all time.
