This course offers supportive space and inspiration aplenty to dabble and “dazzle gradually,” as Emily Dickinson called it, in the processes of explorative memoir writing. Together we’ll try out and on various approaches to and entries into memory, place, detail, image, and creative autobiography. In each class session, we’ll read short pieces of writing that showcase various memoir forms, structures, and styles, which will serve as diving boards into our own adventures on the page. All that is required is to come to each session ready to read, contemplate, explore, and write.
