Baduanjin, meaning “Eight Silken Movements,” is a traditional form of Chinese exercise that dates back nearly a thousand years. In this class, you will learn a sequence of eight simple yet powerful movements designed to improve flexibility, balance, and circulation. Each movement is associated with specific organs and energy pathways in the body, helping to reduce stress, enhance vitality, and support long-term health. This practice is suitable for individuals of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you are looking to improve physical strength, manage stress, or explore traditional mind-body practices, Baduanjin offers a safe and accessible way to cultivate both body and mind. Throughout the course, we will focus on proper posture, alignment, and coordinated breathing, as well as an understanding of the health benefits behind each movement. No prior experience is required. Participants should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing suitable for bending and stretching.
