While physical health and mental health are important and often discussed in society, the importance of social health may get less attention. This course discusses the research and literature on social relationships as they relate to well-being, social engagement, loneliness, and physical health. The course will cover such topics as why the brain needs friends; the benefits of friendship; the importance of micro-connections; and the biggest myth of loneliness. Finally, initiatives by other countries in aiding social health will be addressed.
