Individuals can face a variety of legal issues as they grow older. It is important to be prepared for life’s eventualities. This course will cover estate planning, which includes a discussion of wills, trusts, durable financial powers of attorney, healthcare powers of attorney and living wills, as well as Physicians’ Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment (POLSTs). The course will provide an explanation of the process of probate and estate administration. There will be a discussion of long-term care planning and asset protection planning to help individuals and their families if long term care is needed as well as a review of health insurance coverage for long-term care.
