« back to classes page
Almost 80 years after its initial release, It’s a Wonderful Life remains one of the most cherished movies of all time—required viewing for many around Christmas. Surprisingly, the film was not particularly popular when it was first released in 1946. However, because of its script, cast, production, and enduring themes, It’s a Wonderful Life eventually became recognized as a Hollywood classic. Using film clips and other visuals, this course will go into the making of the film, its director, writers, cast, locations, special effects, and underlying messages, plus the strange story as to how the film became a holiday classic. The course is being taught on the basis that the students have seen It’s a Wonderful Life at least once and are familiar with the film.
