« back to classes page
The goal of this class is to begin to demystify poetry and enjoy reading and discussing poetry together. Each week we will discuss a different aspect of poetry that shapes how we receive a poem- for example the poem’s structure, content or sound. You will be asked to bring a poem to class each week that illustrates that aspect for you. In the first class we will discuss how to find poems to fit the topic. In class we will read our poems out loud, and then we will spend a bit of time discussing the poem, and how we feel about it. Together we will explore why poetry continues to captivate us, read some wonderful poems out loud, and enjoy the magic of poetry.
