A Night At The Movies: The Films Of Robert Altman (Jeffrey Swoger) NEW

ID : 5710

« back to classes page
Robert Altman was an acclaimed film director, screenwriter, and producer known for films featuring ensemble casts that talked over each other. His films were sometimes described as offbeat, subversive or satirical. He was nominated for five Academy Awards, but won none.  However, he was one of only four directors to win the Golden Bear in Berlin, the Golden Lion in Venice, and the Palme d’Or in Cannes. In 2006, Altman was awarded an Honorary Oscar for his body of work. His most popular movie, Mash, became a long-running TV show. Students will view the films on their own prior to each class, and be prepared to discuss them during class. Every student is encouraged to participate on the discussions.
