Join us for an extraordinary presentation and discussion by Brenda Tate, one of Pittsburgh’s first female African American police officers, and author of Journal of a Black Woman in Blue: Navigating Abuse, Addiction, Racism and Sobriety. The class will include a presentation by Brenda Tate and Sharon Liotus, Brenda’s Publisher and Publicist from InterVue Productions. A brief video of Brenda’s story will be shown, and group discussion of her inspiring story serving 40 years on the Pittsburgh Police force, the Dignitary Protection Unit, beating addiction and abuse, and her unique perspective on the history of the Hill District.
