In 1954, Alfred Hitchcock moved to Paramount and made Rear Window, in color, starring James Stewart and Grace Kelly. It the first of a long line of hit films from the English-born director, who, in 1955, became an American citizen. This course will examine six of his greatest hits, films that catapulted Hitchcock to enormous fame, and even spawned a long-running television show. Students will view the assigned movies on their own prior to class, and be prepared to discuss in class. Participation in these discussions should include all students.
