Tailgates, Sunday afternoons, trips to the stadiums and arenas, cheering on our local athletes: sports have long been an important aspect of life in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh’s Heinz History Center houses the Franco Harris Sports Museum. We are lucky to have Anne Madarasz, Chief Historian and Director of the Franco Harris Sports Museum, to lead a personalized tour of the museum and share insights on its collection. Anne will be able to provide additional context and detail to the stories showcased in the museum. You will hear the stories of legends and unsung heroes, the almost forgotten and the forgettable, and come to understand how Pittsburgh built an identity as the City of Champions.
